Summer Club 2010

Shaw's Summer Club starts mid-May and will run through through until September (numbers permitting). You don't need to be a member of Shaw BC* to join in either - the summer club is open to anyone who wishes to play Badminton - everyone is welcome. There's no commitment either - simply turn up, pay and play.

Finally, playing Badminton during the summer can be thirsty work - so after you've finished playing, join us at our usual watering hole: The Castle in Donnington (just down the road!

Time:	7.30pm to 9.30pm
Cost:	£3.50 per evening £2 for juniors/students

PROCEDURES FOR SUMMER CLUB

To ensure that we adhere to insurance policies to cover both players and the club, please can all visitors to Shaw Summer Club please note that the following procedures are now in place.

For each player, check whether they are on the list of registered players.

Players who are on the registered List.

Just collect their fees for the evening

Players who are NOT on the Registered List.

If this is their first visit then they must fill in the Visitors’ Book with the date, their name and their address, and then sign the entry.
If this is not their first visit, then they fill in the Visitors’ Book with the date and their name, and then sign the entry.
Collect their fees for the evening.
If they have attended 3 or more club nights, explain to them that after 6 visits, they must be registered with Badminton England by Shaw if they wish to continue playing. So, they must fill in a “Badminton England Member Registration Form”. If the person is registered with BE via another club there is no charge, but if not they need to pay - Senior £8.30, Junior £4.15
If they are attending for the 7th or more time, and have not been registered, then they must not be permitted to play, as this may violate the club’s insurance.

Accidents

If anyone has an accident during the evening, then this must be recorded in the accident book. Please notify Paul of any entry made – depending upon the nature of the accident, our insurers may need to be informed.
